Welcome to room 116. SSM students in grades 3rd-8th grade attend music classes twice per week in this room and study in the context of thier Catholic faith, vocal technique, music as a performing art, music history, music theory, music as it connects to other academic disciplines, and much more.
Because music is ultimately a performing art, students are required to participate in a concert one day per year. The following information provides you with the date, time, and place of these concerts:
6th- 8th graders perform on Jan. 28th, 2010 at 2:00p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the SSM gym.
3rd - 5th graders will perform on April 29th, 2010 at 2:00p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the SSM gym.
Please note the following list of supplies required for music class:
3rd graders: none
4th and 5th graders: a musical recorder (we will provide these recorders at school and the office will send a bill to you.)
6th-8th graders: a music folder, loose leaf notebook paper, and a pencil with an eraser.
